Alexander The Great : Meet one of our newest family members. Mom says this is the risk of fostering kittens..... falling in love with one of them and knowing they are to become part of the family.
Alexander The Great
I'm Reily : I was my Mommy's Valentine gift to herself six years ago. Little did she know that she would get more love than she ever imagined through me. She and I like to hike together and I travel with her wherever she goes. I've taught children compassion towards canines at a farm camp in Oregon, I've helped blind ducks find their pool in Arizona, I've kept horses with cancer company while they healed in California and I am a National Therapy Animals pet-partners visitor at hospice facilities. My favorite hobby is playing fetch with tennis balls and squeeking my cow toy when Mom is trying to read. I love organic, humanely raised raw meat and veggi meals and eat the hay from the stack in the barn. The mailman and UPS guy keep me busy during the day as I protect my yard, but what they don't know is I am all bark and no bite. (don't tell)

Cali The Queen : Cali and her brother Oreo were found in the bottom of an old stove in a yard when they were two days old. That was 23 tears ago. It was 110 degrees outside and they were badly dehyrated. Mom bottled raised them both and they grew up very close to each other.... you rarely found them apart. About five years ago, Oreo past away and Cali nearly died of depression herself. Then Bandit stepped in and helped her heal her pain and she decided to live. Oreo still comes to visit her often and she is in great health and Spirits. At 23, she is still the Queen of the house. Even I know not to mess with her.

Bandit : Bandit IS quite the charmer. Mom says he got his name because the little “Bandit” stole her heart. He was a foster kitten of a litter that she bottle raised for the animal foundation when his Mommy died. It was her intention(as it always is-doesn’t work so swell often times) to raise them to be adopted into loving homes. This big guy knew how to work his cuteness to the limit and when the time came, she was the one filling out the adoption form. Bandit has lived with us for almost 7 years now and he is one of my best pals. He is very nice to me and cleans my eyes around the edges where I can’t lick myself. Bandit has a big voice and let's his needs be known. He was very kind to Cali when her best friend Oreo past away and helped fill the void in her heart. You can find him often times sleeping with her and cleaning her so she feels safe and loved.

Albi Darned : Albi Darned is my best kitty friend..... maybe because we have so much in common.... being the same color and all. He would like to be an only kitty if he could, but still he is nice to the other cats. He just likes to go places where no one else can to be alone..... these places include way up high, farther than anyone can jump. Most people ask how Albi got his name. It really is quite the funny story so I will tell you it. When Albi was a kitten, someone left him in a box in the middle of the street. The lady that cleaned our house at the time saw him and knew that Mom could help find a home for him. She brought him to our house when she came. Mom fell in love at first sight. She knew they had a soul connection and were meant to be together. So Albi got to stay. But at that time, Mom thought he was a girl and named him Abby. As time passed, it became evident that Abby was in fact NOT a girl. Mom didn't want to confuse him too much by completely chaging the sound of his name so she called him Albi for short.... the long version arriving from "Albi Darned, You're a Boy!" (he has since outgrown the complex he had from being named a girl and all- Thank Gosh!)

Gunner : Gunner is the Gentle Spirit in the barn. He is the first to notice and point out imbalances in our surroundings. He keeps us all in the moment and aware. His intuition is always spot-on. He and Mom have grown a lot through the years. Many people have told her to sell him because he can be dangerous and is very difficult to ride safely. These things do not arrise out of anger but out of fear or pain and he has taught her to really listen to us animals better and is the one who has helped her develope her healing skills. The more they work together the more he finds confidence in himself. Mom says he will be with us forever no matter what because she was the one who brought him into the world and feels responsible for his safety, happiness and spiritual evolution. If you could have seen him 10 years ago you wouldn't recognize him. He has come so far. Our lives at the farm have become better because Gunner has been so honest and brave.Gunner enjoys long walks in the desert, spending time with and protecting his little pal Stormy and really loves his herbal and carrot holistic wormer each month.
